February 29, 2024, the representatives of the Chinese company-manufacturer of medical equipment Mindray Medical International Limited, as well as the representatives of CardioMed LLC (a Russian company-distributor of medical equipment of foreign and domestic manufacturers) visited the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

On behalf of the Kulakov Center the meeting was attended by: Gennady Sukhikh (Director of the Center, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences); Alexander Sencha (Head of Imaging Department); Kirill Kostyukov (Head of Ultrasound and Functional Diagnostics Department);  Konstantin Kalachin (Head of Clinics of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department); Artem Burov (Head of Anesthesiology-Resuscitation and Neonatal Intensive Care Department); Tatiana Teterina and Diana Boris (Obstetricians-Gynecologists of Aesthetic Gynecology and Rehabilitation Department); Natalia Goncharova (bacteriologist at the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory); Alexander Smetankin (Head of the Contract Service); Nikolai Zakharov (Head of the Logistics Department), Anna Chizhova (Translator at the International Cooperation Department).

The meeting was started by the Director of the Center, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Sukhikh. He thanked the representatives of the companies for long-term cooperation and expressed his willingness to continue cooperation on supplying the Center with high quality ultrasound and diagnostic equipment. In addition, Gennady Sukhikh noted with gratitude the support of Mindray for the Center's scientific cooperation with Chinese medical institutions, as well as educational programs with the use of simulation equipment.

In his turn, Mr. Kaewen Xu (Head of International Business of Mindray Medical International Limited) offered to organize full-time training of specialists in obstetrics and gynecology on the company's equipment and academic exchanges of specialists both on the territory of China and at the Kulakov Center.

Prof. Sukhikh, referring to the Address of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, which was held on the same day, mentioned the importance of developing medical care for rural population in the regions of the Russian Federation. He proposed to work out the concept of equipping medical institutions in remote areas with the company's equipment, as well as to localize this equipment on the territory of Russia.

Mr. Kaewen Xu supported this initiative and specified that at the moment the company's branches in Moscow and in a number of big cities of Russia are discussing the setup of local production of medical equipment.

In addition to technical issues, the meeting also covered the initiative of Mr. Xing Liang (Head of International Business of Ultrasound Department) to develop a global platform for integrating imaging diagnostics data set and improve the process of training physicians to use the company's equipment. He also emphasized the priority of the company's educational initiatives.

Prof. Alexander Sencha, Head of the Imaging Department of the Kulakov Center, expressed his readiness to use the technical capabilities of Mindray equipment in scientific research aimed at improving the diagnosis of obstetric, gynecological and perinatal diseases, with subsequent discussion of the obtained results at scientific and educational events and in medical literature.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, Prof. Sukhikh invited the representatives of Mindray Medical International Limited to participate in the All-Russian Scientific and Educational Forum "Mother and Child - 2024" and expressed his hope for mutual fruitful cooperation.
