Childbirth in the Center means high expertise options of up-to-date obstetrical, gynecological and perinatological practices, safety for the mother and the newborn, comfort at each stage of labor and in the postnatal period.

Management of labor is conducted by highly qualified specialists in obstetrics and gynecology. The team of the Department consists of the leading obstetricians-gynecologist, anesthesiologist, surgeons and neonatologists.

The Department has 8 individual maternity wards equipped with bed-transformers maximally comfortable for women, as they can easily change the position during the childbirth. All maternity rooms are equipped with private bathrooms with showers.

Comfortable atmosphere in maternity rooms allows the presence of the partner in the process of childbirth. If the “support team” needs to relax – a visitor’s lounge is always at their disposal.

Every healthy baby immediately after birth, even before the umbilical cord is cut, is laid out on the mother’s chest, and the first period of the baby’s adaptation to a new life passes with maximal comfort. The newborn stays with the mother throughout the whole period of s stay in the maternity ward. Experienced obstetricians and neonatologists explain the mother the basics of proper breast attachment, monitor the first application. A neonatologist attends each delivery.

The methods of non-drug anesthesia are used in management of labor: vertical position, special exercises on balls, water procedures, psychological support are applied in the management of childbirth. However, often there is a need - for medical reasons or at a woman’s request - in medical anesthesia. The team always includes an experienced anesthesiologist.

All anesthesiologists are skilled in epidural anesthesia, taking into account the peculiarities of the use of this technique in obstetrics with minimal impact on the condition of the fetus.

High-precision resuscitation equipment for monitoring the vital functions of the mother is available in the maternity rooms, providing continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure and other indicators.

•          The maternity rooms are fully equipped with the necessary diagnostic and treatment equipment complying with high international standards

•          Unique ventilation and disinfection systems

•          Cardiotocographic wireless devices for continuous monitoring of the fetal condition and recording of the fetal electrocardiogram allow a woman to move freely

•          The latest computerized system "Monica" for monitoring the condition of the fetus, assessment of the fetus condition in labor, analysis of any changes

•          Ultrasound during pregnancy and childbirth is widely used helping to avoid intraoperative complications.  Ultrasound examination is available 24  hours per day.

The main laboratory parameters of the mother and newborn may be assessed in the laboratories of the Center 24 hours per day. The blood type and Rh factor of a newborn born to a mother with a Rh negative blood type is determined in the delivery room immediately after birth. This allows to prevent the development of isosensitization by the Rh factor in subsequent pregnancies.

The operating unit is located on the same floor. It makes possible to provide care in emergency cases in the quickest possible time. The operating room is equipped with the “Cell Saver” device for autohemotransfusion – the most relevant and safe techinique for replenishing blood loss.

To ensure health care for women with fetal problems, each maternity room is equipped with resuscitation systems for newborns, enabling emergency care immediately after birth.

Pregnancy management and childbirth is provided in cases of multiple pregnancies, premature births, childbirth in patients with Rh rhesus-conflict, uterine scar after cesarean section, pelvic presentation of the fetus and other pathologies.

A lot of experience has been gained by the specialistis of the Department in management of  hemorrhage. When surgery is necessary, organ-sparing procedures are performed allowing the women to have children in future.
