June 12 to 17, 2023 in Tajikistan and June 20 to 23, 2023 in Kyrgyz Republic, National Steering Group meeting and semi-annual Quality Improvement Workshops were held within the framework of a joint project with WHO on “Improving the quality of hospital care to reduce maternal, newborn and child deaths (Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia and Vietnam)”.

From 29 May to 08 June 2023, the specialists from Mongolia underwent the Course “Effective Perinatal Technologies” organized and held by the WHO CC at the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I.Kulakov of the Ministry of Health of Russia in the frames of collaborative Project of the Russian Federation and the WHO “Improving the Quality of Hospital Care to Reduce Maternal, Newborn and Child deaths and Accelerate the Achievement of the SDG in 4 countries (Tadjikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Vietnam).”

November 14-18, 2022 in Tajikistan and November 21-25, 2022 in Kyrgyzstan, the regular National Steering Group Meetings and semi-annual Quality Improvement Workshops on the joint project "Improving Quality of Hospital Care to Reduce Maternal, Newborn and Child Mortality in Four Countries (Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Vietnam)" were held.

The project is implemented in accordance with the Government Decree of the Russian Federation No. 1231-Р dated 22.05.2020, with full funding from the Russian Federation.
The project aims to improve the quality of hospital care to reduce maternal, newborn and child deaths through a detailed assessment of the quality of care in medical centers in the participating countries, analysis of assessment results, development and implementation of measures to improve the quality of hospital care.

Within the framework of the mission, which took place on November 15 – December 3, 2021, under the leadership of Elizaveta Khamatkhanova, Head of the Department of Educational Simulation Technologies in Medicine, and Ekaterina Yarotskaya, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, 4 groups, including pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, midwives, and specialists of the simulation and training center together with WHO consultants, assessed the quality of care in maternity hospitals and clinics in the following cities of Tajikistan: Khujand, Istaravshan, Hisor, Konibodom, Isfara, Rudaki district, Panjakent, Vahdat, Ayni, Tursunzoda.
