At the 21st Meeting of the Healthcare Sub-Commission of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation, chaired by Evgeny Kamkin, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which included a discussion of cooperation in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of COVID-19, infectious diseases, disaster medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, maternal and child health, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and the Beijing Hospital for Maternal and Child Health Care.

Academician Gennady Sukhikh, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, said that the parties will continue cooperation in the field of fetal interventional therapy and ultrasound monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of twin complications, prenatal imaging diagnosis, genetic etiology, prognosis and treatment of fetal anomalies, and will jointly establish the Remote Consultation Center for Ultrasound Diagnostics.

It was noted that the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and East China University of Technology successfully cooperate in the field of the implementation of direct mass spectrometry in obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology: the parties continue to organize mutual visits of specialists, share technologies, conduct online seminars, and work on joint grant projects. Following the agreement, the Center expects to receive the system based on a mass spectrometer in order to conduct joint research on the development of methods for minimally invasive diagnosis of diseases, determining the pharmacokinetics of medical drugs, and monitoring the condition of newborns.

The Center suggests the following areas of cooperation to the Chinese colleagues: joint development of simulation technologies based on Chinese equipment for training in obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology and resuscitation; cooperation on the development and processing of national near miss registries; cooperation in the field of preservation of reproductive potential in oncologic patients (oncofertility).
