The Ambassador of Mexico visited the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology
Following an extended meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Health, representatives of leading Russian scientific and educational institutions and medical universities with the heads of diplomatic missions of Latin American and Caribbean countries held on May 21, 2025, the Ambassador of Mexico to Russia Mr. Eduardo Villegas Megias visited the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on August 13, 2025.
The Center was represented by: Director – Academician Gennady Sukhikh; Deputy Directors – Tatiana Tsybizova, Natalya Kan, Dmitry Degtyarev; Director of the Institute of Professional Education – Dmitry Voronov; Academic Secretary – Stanislav Pavlovich; Head of the Department of International Cooperation – Ekaterina Yarotskaya.
The Director of the Center, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Sukhikh, began the meeting by introducing the Ambassador to the Center's structure and activities. During the meeting, they discussed issues of cooperation in all areas related to motherhood and childhood. Particular attention was paid to maternal and infant mortality, providing care to women with cancer, reproductive system diseases, and infertility.
Mr. Villegas Megias visited the Institute of Gynecologic Oncology and the Federal Perinatal Center, and was very interested in the work of the Simulation and Training Center. After the visit, both parties agreed that specialists from both countries should share their experiences; this includes the possibility of organizing trainings for obstetricians-gynecologists, neonatologists, and intensivists.
