On October 11-29, the Center representatives made their second mission to Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of a joint project with WHO on “Improving the quality of hospital care to reduce maternal, newborn and child deaths (Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia and Vietnam)”

A large group of specialists from the Center – neonatologists, obstetricians, and specialists of the simulation and training center – took part in this meeting.

The mission was led by Elizaveta Khamatkhanova, Head of the Department of Educational Simulation Technologies in Medicine, and Ekaterina Yarotskaya, Head of the Department of International Cooperation.

Agenda of the mission involved 2 WHO trainings (on effective perinatal care and on hospital assessment tools) that took place from 11 to 19 October and hospital assessment visits to pilot hospital in Batken region (Batken/Kyzyl-Kiya), Chui region (Bishkek), Issyk-Kul region (Karakol) and Jalal-Abad region (Jalal-Abad/Bazar-Korgon) that took place from 20 to 23 October.

At the end of the assessment visits, meeting with local leading experts on the results of the mission and on planning the next steps were held.
