More than 1300 participants from 24 countries, 198 cities and 60 regions of the Russian Federation attended the Congress on-site.
The Congress was opened with the greetings of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko. He spoke about important issues of reproductive health care in the Russian Federation, in particular, the organization of preventive medical care and the work of women's health clinics.
The participants of the Congress were also welcomed by the Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare Alla Samoylova, and the Director of Department of Child Healthcare, Maternity Service and Social Health of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Elena Sheshko, who underlined the important role of scientific and organizational work of the Center for solving one of the main national tasks – sustainable health and growth of population.
Сo-Chairman of the Congress, Professor Leila Adamyan introduced foreign experts, who found it possible to participate in the Congress in person. They were: Prof. A. Wattiez, Prof. М. Malzoni, Prof. R. Tozzi, Prof. G. Bigatti, Prof. Sh. Puntambekar, Prof. O. Shawki, Dr. A. Ussia, Dr. А. Stepanyan. Prof. L.V. Adamyan underlined, that these foreign colleagues will provide highest level of the International Course on endoscopic surgery by representing novel approaches and techniques.
Co-Chair of the International Course Professor Arnaus Wattiez (France/UAE) expressed gratitude to the Chairmen of the Congress for participation and highlighted that despite the existing obstacles, it is necessity to maintain friendly and professional contacts and participate face-to-face in the events, such as this Congress, that make the world better.
The scientific program of the Congress was introduced by Professor Gennnady Sukhikh. He focused on the importance of screening studies in reproductive, perinatal and neonatal medicine, on innovative methods to overcome the barriers of ART; reproductive andrology; cellular and exome technologies in regenerative medicine; and the possibilities of gene therapy.

The scientific program comprised more than 120 scientific and clinical presentations, including 30 from the Kulakov Center and 25 made by representatives of other leading Russian scientific, educational and clinical centers and CIS countries.
The Congress included 8 plenary sessions covering the most topical issues of reproductive medicine: achievements and challenges in infertility treatment, including the latest assisted reproductive technologies, reproductive genetics, immunology, treatment of premature ovarian failure, oncofertility.
Special attention was paid to “smart” technologies that are designed to improve the quality of treatment: robotic surgery, 3D navigation, artificial intelligence, reproductive medicine in space.
The Congress was featured by the live broadcasting of surgeries performed at Italian hospitals and operating theater of the Kulakov Center. The teams of Russian and foreign surgeons performed 13 laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries for advanced endometrial cancer, endometriosis, uterine scarring, and intrauterine pathology.
Each day of the Congress was opened with the International Course on endoscopic surgery led by Professor Leila Adamyan. The course included master classes from leading foreign experts and workshops for the Congress participants on simulators with practicing surgical techniques.
A traditional part of the Congress is the Young Scientists’ Contest, where young scientists present their scientific research in topical areas of reproductive medicine. Among a large number of contest applications, the expert jury awarded 6 works this year:
1st prize was shared by Anastasia Belevich (28 y.o., junior researcher, the Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology named after D. O. Ott” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Saint Petersburg), with the study “Development of new therapeutic approaches to the treatment of endometriosis based on an experimental model” and Anton Sokolov (27 y.o., junior researcher, V.I. Kulakov National Medical Research Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the study “Adenomyosis in women of reproductive age: pain, infertility, bleeding and surgery”.
2nd place was shared by Tatiana Ulyanova (21 y.o., student, Kursk State Medical University, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Kursk) with the study “The influence of adaptive mechanisms of tissue hypoxia and aggravated comorbid status in women in IVF programs” and Vera Smirnova (24 y.o., postgraduate student, I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the study “Male and female infertility in the Russian Federation and selected Russian regions in 2011-2022: epidemiological analysis of the number of citizens applying to state medical institutions on reproductive health issues”.
3d place was shared by Alia Yanbarisova (25 y.o., postgraduate student of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2, Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Ufa) with the study “Uterine myoma: prediction of risk factors in women of reproductive age using neural network data analysis” and Maria Ilyina (21 y.o., student, Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the study “Fertility preservation in cancer patients – ART methods”.
The online broadcasting of the Congress was provided by RIA Novosti news agency. A parallel broadcast was organized on the official website of the Congress operator MEDI EXPO and on a special channel of RuTube video hosting service. The total number of views over the 4 days was more than 18,000. More than 4,000 people were watching the Congress through the official website daily, with around 200 connections from abroad. Dozens of positive reviews and comments were received.
The XIX International Congress on Reproductive Medicine has been approved the Commission for the Evaluation of Compliance of Training Activities and Materials for Continuing Medical Education (CME) with the established requirements of the Coordinating Council for the Development of Continuing Medical and Pharmaceutical Education of the Ministry of Health.
