Online conference with the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of the Capital Medical University, China
On March 24, 2025, the online meeting between the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of the Capital Medical University was held.
The Center was represented by: Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Sukhikh, Director of the Kulakov National Medical Research Center; prof. Ekaterina Yarotskaya, Head of the Department of International Cooperation; prof. Dmitry Voronov, Director of the Institute of Professional Education; prof. Dmitry Trofimov, Director of the Institute of Reproductive Genetics; prof. Inna Apolikhina, Head of the Department of Aesthetic Gynecology and Rehabilitation; Nana Tetruashvili, Head of the Second Obstetric Department of Pregnancy Pathology; Lyubov Krechetova, Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology; Elizaveta Khamatkhanova, Head of the Department of Educational Simulation Technologies; Kirill Kostyukov, Head of the Department of Ultrasound and Functional Diagnostics; Liliyana Chugunova, doctor of the Department of Ultrasound and Functional Diagnostics; Polina Tsabai, Geneticist.
The Chinese side was represented by: prof. Yin Chenghong (Director), prof. Wu Qingqing (Vice Director), and heads of the Obstetrics Department, Central Laboratory, Department of Reproduction, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, and Education Department.
The online meeting was opened by the Academician of the RAS Gennadiy Sukhikh, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology. He noted the meeting's potential for new cooperation opportunities and the chance for parties to learn about each other's activities in the following areas:
- Postpartum and postoperative pelvic floor rehabilitation;
- Immunology of reproduction;
- Genetics of reproduction;
- Simulation technologies in obstetrics;
- Prenatal management of pregnancies at risk of preterm birth;
- Fetal surgery;
- Artificial intelligence in ultrasound.
The parties showed great interest in working together on the issues presented and agreed to continue the discussions on promising areas.
The Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of Russia has been cooperating with the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Capital Medical University since 2021. During this time, several online meetings were held on complex issues of prenatal diagnostics, and visits of specialists from both institutes were organized. In May 2024, at the invitation of the director of the Beijing Hospital, the Center's experts participated as speakers at the 2nd Capital Conference on Maternal and Child Health Care. In turn, in October 2024, Chinese experts visited the Center and took part in special Russian-Chinese sessions at the National Scientific and Educational Ultrasound Congress “Ultrasound diagnostics in obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology: complex issues and ways to solve them” and at the XXV Anniversary All-Russian Scientific and Educational Forum “Mother and Child-2024”.
