June 03-06, 2025, the XXXVIII International Congress with a course of endoscopy “New Technologies for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecologic Diseases” was held at the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology.

The Congress was opened by the greetings of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko. He noted that women's reproductive health is one of the most important things for the country. The minister highlighted the significance of preventive medicine, which allows to detect diseases of the reproductive system and prevent their progression.
The scientific program of the Congress was opened by the speech of Gennady Sukhikh (Academician of RAS, Director of the Kulakov National Medical Research Center) and by Leila Adamyan (Academician of RAS, Deputy Director of the Kulakov National Medical Research Center). They noted the leading role of the Centre in developing techniques and surgical interventions for endometriosis, myoma, ovarian tumours, and other malformations as well as in presenting new technologies for reproductive needs, for oncogynecology, and for other spheres of women’s health.

All four days of the Congress opened with an International Endoscopy course (A. Wattiez, O. Shawki, G. Bigatti, R. Tozzi, М. Malzoni, A. Romeo, А. Ussia, J. Gilabert Estelles, P. Koninckx, Sh. Puntambekar) including special sessions on technical innovations, nuances of surgical energies application, features of reconstructive surgery, and suturing techniques.
The highlight of the Congress was the live broadcasting of surgeries carried out by Russian and international experts.
A total of 27 surgeries were performed, including: lymphadenectomy for ovarian and cervical cancer, severe endometriosis, metroplasty for uterine scar, hysterectomy for uterine fibroids, myomectomy, intrauterine septum, endometrial pathology, intrauterine synechiae.
The Congress also included 5 plenary sessions covering such areas as new technologies in the diagnosis, surgery, and treatment of endometriosis; innovations in reproductive surgery; approaches to the management of gynecologic oncology patients; current issues in gynecology in the light of new technologies.
The key lecture was presented by Dr. Assia Stepanian (Atlanta, USA). In her talk, “New possibilities of surgical intellect”, she explained how the integration of AI with virtual and augmented reality technologies, as well as robotic systems, allows for greater accuracy in operations, reduced risk of complications, and optimized processes.
Traditionally the Young Scientists’ Contest was organized as part of the Congress. The panel of experts judged the scientific research works and developments in the priority area of the treatment of gynecological diseases. Among a large number of contest applications, it was decided to award prizes to 6 research works:
1st prize was deservedly shared by: Julietta Avetisyan (25 y.o., National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the presentation entitled: “A modern view on the experimental development of endometriosis on an animal model”, and Sofia Shifon (22 y.o., Novosibirsk State University, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Novosibirsk) with the presentation entitled: “Modulation of the functional phenotype of monocytes by soluble factors of peritoneal fluid in the progression of endometriosis”.
2nd prize was awarded to Vasilina Kopeyko (22 y.o., the Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the presentation entitled: “Aortic aneurysm and pregnancy”; Kristina Kurbatova (21 y.o., the Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the presentation entitled: “Objectification of pain in patients with endometriosis”; Valeria Seregina (24 y.o. National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the presentation entitled: “Gynecological morbidity in pediatric practice before and after the COVID-19 pandemic (Experience of the Emergency Pediatric Gynecology Department of the Morozov Children's Hospital)”.
3rd prize was taken by Maria Maminova (25 y.o., the Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow) with the presentation entitled: “Antenatal torsion of the uterine adnexa: differentiated treatment tactics”.
On June 06, All-Russian training seminar “Dispensary for citizens of reproductive age on the assessment of reproductive health of reproductive age to assess reproductive health” was held. The seminar was attended by: Director of the Center, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Sukhikh; Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare Alla Samoylova; representatives of the Department of Child Healthcare, Maternity Service and Social Health of the Ministry of Health of Russia: Rafael Shavaliev (Director), Victoria Sakharova (Deputy Director); Chief freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of Russia: Academician of RAS Leila Adamyan (gynecology), Corr.-Member of RAS Oleg Apolikhin (reproductive health of men), Prof. Nataliya Dolgushina (reproductive health of women); as well as representatives of the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund; the Central Research Institute of Health Care Organization and Informatization of the Ministry of Health of Russia; the Department for Monitoring of Medical Care for Certain Categories of Citizens of the Coordination Center of the Federal Project “Modernization of Primary Health Care”. The seminar was attended by more than 90 healthcare managers and specialists from 55 regions of Russia.
According to official statistics, 1,226 participants from 21 countries, 187 cities, and 67 subjects of the Russian Federation registered for the Congress on site.
Experts from Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Hungary, Germany, Egypt, Israel, India, Spain, Italy, Canada, China, UAE, USA, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, and Japan also joined the broadcast.
For the convenience of listeners who were unable to attend the Congress in person, a parallel broadcast was organized on the official website of the Congress and on Rutube, where the total number of views over the 4 days was 11,725. More than 2,600 people joined the stream via the official website every day. Dozens of positive reviews and comments were received.
