The XVII International Congress on Reproductive Medicine was held online on January 17-20, 2023 in Moscow
The congress ran on-line on the ZOOM platform and was streamed from the RIA NOVOSTI (the Russian News and Information Agency) studio and the studio of the Center itself.

4349 participants from 16 countries, 475 cities and 87 regions of Russia checked in for the Congress.
Oleg Salagay, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, spoke at the opening of the Congress and delivered a welcoming word on behalf of Mikhail Murashko, the Minister of Health of Russia. Oleg Salagay noted the influential role of the Congress on international platforms in the field of medicine. In addition, he stressed the importance of implementing innovative methods and high-tech equipment for minimally invasive surgery in clinical practice, as well as the increasing need to use digital medicine to improve the quality and availability of medical services.
The participants of the Congress were also welcomed by the Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare Alla Samoylova.
The scientific programme of the Congress was opened by Professor Gennady Sukhikh, Director of the Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology. In his report he touched upon the main controversial issues of reproductive medicine: reproductive genetics/genomics, single cell transcriptomics in human reproduction, male infertility, cell technologies in reproductive medicine, microbiome and reproduction, ageing of the reproductive system.

The scientific programme included more than 100 speakers, including 30 presentations from the Kulakov Center and the same number of presentations from leading Russian scientific, educational and clinical centres.
The Congress included 8 plenary sessions: endometriosis - diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation; advaces in reproductive surgery; contemporary robot-assisted approaches to reproductive surgery: prospects of using robots and surgical strategies; current problems of reproductology: theory and practice; comprehensive approach to the prevention and treatment of benign gynaecological diseases; reproductive aspects of oncogynecology; prevention of oncological diseases; preventive approach to preserving women's health; risks of pregnancy loss and how to deal with them. Particular attention was paid to impact of COVID-19 on the reproductive health. The special session addressed cutting-edge scientific and technological developments in medicine, such as artificial intelligence, robotic, computer and digital technologies.
Seven master classes were also held ("Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in reproductive medicine", Leila Adamyan; General principles and new trends in laparoscopic surgery'', "Basic and important knowledge in laparoscopic surgery'', Arnaud Wattiez; "Surgical energies: classics and innovations" Philippe Koninckx; "How to do laparoscopic sutures right and safe with Romeo’s Gladiator Rule Knot’s tying technique?", "How to fix the classical Knot’s mistakes during surgery: the reorganization of the knots in laparoscopy", Armando Romeo; "ULTRA-LAP trial: feasibility and safety of multi-visceral debulking in ovarian cancer", Roberto Tozzi).
Traditionally, the Young Scientists Contest was held as part of the Congress. The expert jury considered scientific research and developments in the priority areas of reproductive medicine. Out of several dozens of applications, 5 most significant papers were selected:
The 1st place was shared by Laura Pivazyan (aged 24, first-year resident, Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, Moscow) on "COVID-19 outside and during pregnancy. Post-COVID-19 and Reproductive Health According to Questionnaire and Results Analysis" and Daria Ermakova (aged 25, postgraduate student, Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, Moscow) "Effect of amino acid and lipid profile features of follicular fluid on the outcomes of ART programs in COVID-19 patients".
The 2nd place was shared by Alexander Chernyakov (aged 24, resident physician, Tomsk National Research Medical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk) "Radical trachelectomy with uterine transposition as part of combined organ-preserving treatment in patients with invasive cervical cancer" and Viktoria Yudina (aged 26, postgraduate student, Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, Moscow) "The Incidence of Malignant Diseases of the Reproductive System among the Young Population of Russia: National and Regional Features".
The 3rd place went to Anna Gaydarova (aged 23, first-year resident, Mechnikov Northwestern State Medical University, Saint-Petersburg) ''Significance of epithelial-mesenchymal transformation in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis''.
A total of over 36,600 online views of the Congress were recorded. About 5,000 people (and about 3,000 people via YouTube) were connected to view the Congress daily via the official website, with more than 250 connections from abroad per day. Dozens of positive reviews and comments about the Congress were registered as well.
The Congress got accredited by CME.
