ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of operative gynecology provides the whole spectrum of surgical treatment of gynecologic diseases in women of any age. We perform emergency and elective surgical interventions: concomitant combined surgery in patients with pelvic diseases, who have breast or abdominal diseases; hysteroscopy, laparotomy; provide surgical care in the other Departments of the Center.

Most surgical procedures performed in the Department are organ-sparing interventions.

The surgery is performed with the use of the most modern equipment and instruments, electrosurgical devices, suture materials and anti-adhesive barriers. We use a wide range of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic methods of preoperative diagnosis and postoperative monitoring of diseases: ultrasound with duplex scanning, spiral computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, cystoscopy, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, X-ray studies, innovative laboratory research methodologies.

The team of the Department consists of well-trained and experienced obstetricians and gynecologists. Many of them have highest qualification and doctoral degrees in obstetrics and gynecology. Every year they improve their skills on different certification courses in Russia and abroad, participate in international congresses and conferences.

FOCUS AREA

Surgical treatment of gynecologic and oncologic diseases with the use of the advanced minimally invasive techniques in surgery.

The Department provides surgical care in patients with:

  • uterine myoma and all types of pelvic masses
  • uterine diseases including endometriosis, adenomyosis
  • cervical disorders, including precancerous conditions and cancer
  • ovarian diseases, including neoplasms of various etiology
  • diseases of the external genital organs
  • malformations of uterus and vagina
  • obstruction of the fallopian tubes and adhesions
  • cervical insufficiency
  • inconsistent scar on the uterus after surgery, cesarean section
  • disorders requiring surgery during pregnancy
  • other pelvic diseases requiring surgical treatment
