The Division provides the sanitary and epidemiological control of the Center's hospital premises, the equipment, air, medications and sterile materials to prevent the development of infections in hospitalized patients. The specialists of the Division develop a methodological basis for anti-epidemic measures in the Center, taking into account the modern approaches.

Microbiological monitoring – one of the important aspects of infectious control undertaken in clinical departments of the Center allows to respond quickly to epidemiologic hazards, to prevent most outbreaks at the pre-epidemic stage, to identify the  carriers of  major conditionally pathogenic microorganisms and to carry out  immediate anti-epidemic measures .

Based on the information from the Laboratory of Microbiology, the specialists of the Divisions of Epidemiological Surveillance and Clinical Pharmacology plan the anti-epidemic measures  and correct the hospital protocols of antimicrobial therapy in the clinical divisions of the Center.
