ABOUT THE DIVISION

The Division provides a wide range of qualified healthcare including diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of newborns with various congenital and perinatal pathologic conditions. The patients are both the babies discharged from neonatal departments of the Center and those, who were referred from other medical facilities, as well as the children, whose parents chose to get care for their babies in the Center. Medical care is provided for children from the first days of life up to 18 years.

The team of the Division consists of competent, experienced and thoughtful doctors, whose activities are based on joint decision and multidisciplinary approach to solution of medical problems of each child. Most of doctors in the Division are engaged in research. The team of doctors includes: pediatricians, neurologists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, cardiologists, endocrinologists, traumatologists and orthopedic doctors, otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, pediatric psychologists and others.

 

THE ACTIVITIES

The activities are focused on health care  for children with various diseases and complications, as well as dynamic follow up of their physical and psycho-emotional conditions at any age:

  • diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of children with a history of perinatal pathology,  resuscitation, intensive therapy or surgical intervention in the neonatal period;
  • examination, treatment and rehabilitation of children with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system and congenital metabolic disorders;
  • treatment and follow-up of children with pathologic conditions of the central nervous system, hereditary  diseases;
  • management of children with hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice);
  • management of children born with very low and extremely low birth weight, as well as those who were born after assisted reproductive technologies (IVF, ICSI);
  • follow up children after liver transplantation;
  • follow up healthy children of all ages;
  • management of children born to mothers with severe somatic conditions: systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), diabetes mellitus, oncological diseases;
  • management and treatment children with endocrine diseases (obesity, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, disorders of sexual development);
  • examination and treatment of children with congenital and acquired diseases of the genitourinary system; examination of children with unclear articular syndrome

VACCINATION OF CHILDREN

Vaccination of children according to the national calendar of vaccination as well as individual vaccination is also in the competence of the specialists of the Department.

RESEARCH

The staff of the Division is engaged in scientific activities aimed at improvement of pediatric care, which include:

  • development of modern technologies for the rehabilitation and follow-up care for  babies born with very low and extremely low birth weight, those who were born after ART, born to women after organ transplantation and with oncological diseases;
  • assessment of risk factors for the development of retinopathy in preterm babies;
  • development of modern technologies of diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention and follow-up care for children with disorders of bilirubin metabolism, congenital and hereditary diseases of liver and bile ducts, as well as after liver transplantation.

MEDICAL CARE IN THE FRAMES OF PROGRAMS OF FOLLOW-UP FOR CHILDREN IN OUTPATIENT FACILITIES AND AT HOME

These programs include a wide spectrum of pediatric medical services for age group of children from 0 to 18 months.  

The parents have a possibility:

  • to choose a pediatrician for individual supervision of the child’s growth and health;
  • to get consultations on the issues of nutrition, fitness, vaccination and  treatment of diseases;
  • to be consulted by different specialists, to undergo laboratory and hardware-controlled tests and to get medical documentation from doctors;
  • to examine a child taking into account the individual characteristics of his health;
  • to shorten the time of staying in the clinic due to no necessity for standing in a queue to pay for each medical manipulation separately.

POSSIBILITIES

Pediatric Division possesses a broad range of possibilities and advantages for diagnostics, treatment and follow-up of children. The following services are available:

  • ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound diagnostics,  electrocardiography (ECG), computed tomography (CT), MRI, X-ray diagnostics, routine EEG and 3-hour video EEG monitoring, 24-hour ECG monitoring;
  • laboratory services;
  • therapeutic gymnastics and massage rooms.

 

Thus, well-coordinated work of the specialists of the Division, day care wards, an isolation ward, a feeding room, play areas, as well as friendly atmosphere created by the team provide comfort for the patients.
