At the 21st Meeting of the Healthcare Sub-Commission of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation, chaired by Evgeny Kamkin, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which included a discussion of cooperation in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of COVID-19, infectious diseases, disaster medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, maternal and child health, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and the Beijing Hospital for Maternal and Child Health Care.

On August 21, 2021, the first online meeting between the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and the FSBI “National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation took place.

The Congress was broadcasted from the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and from the studio in the Russian News and Information Agency RIA Novosti. The broadcast was  accessible on YouTube.

On March 12, 2021, a joint online session "Japan-Russia International Session for Pediatric Surgery" was held online within the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery (JSES2020) in Yokohama.

The major part of the program was devoted to the outcomes of cooperation between Oita University and the FSBI “National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Two years ago, the FSBI “National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Oita University signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of minimally invasive diagnostics and endoscopic surgery in newborns. A year ago, the 1st Japan Russia training course “Endoscopic surgery and tracheal endoscopic treatment workshop for pediatric surgeons” was held in the Center. The course included: lectures and video lectures on neonatal surgery, master classes on endoscopy using training models and simulators, pre-testing of students and post-testing of students with an assessment of their results.

On June 2-4, 2020, the XXXIII International Congress with Endoscopic Course “New Technologies for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecological Diseases” was successfully held. Due to COVID-19 pandemic and related meeting and travel restrictions, the Congress for the first time in many years was not held in its traditional format. Despite these circumstances, this year the Congress was one of the first large-scale and events performed through global video broadcasting to the whole world. The online format provided a unique opportunity for Russian and foreign experts to share their experience and skills, present their achievements and innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, and for participants – to look into the best clinics of the world. The Congress again managed to became a guide to the world of new professional knowledge regardless the numerous challenges.

In June 2019, under the Eight-point Cooperation Plan, the Center and Oita University (President – Professor Seigo Kitano) signed an agreement. Under this umbrella the parties held joint events, exchanged visits to the hospitals and shared experience in specific areas of interest.

32 foreign experts from Austria, Great Britain USA, France, Canada, Japan, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Israel and India made presentations in the congress. In total there were 1489 participants from 24 countries, 176 cities and 66 regions of the Russian Federation, including from CIS countries.
